New Kent Fire-Rescue is always looking for individuals who want to join the ranks of volunteers that help protect the citizens and property throughout our communities! In rural localities such as New Kent volunteers are an important aspect of Fire/EMS services… so if you’re interested in being an Everyday Hero please take the first step by downloading and completing the Volunteer Application (see the link below).

Attendance at only one of the orientations is required. The start time and location for each date is 7:00 PM in the facility training room at Fire Station 1 (Providence Forge) located at 4315 North Courthouse Road, Providence Forge, VA 23140.

Additional Information, Resources, and Volunteer Opportunities
Supports local response capability by training volunteers to organize themselves and spontaneous volunteers at the disaster site, to provide immediate assistance to victims, and to collect disaster intelligence to support responders’ efforts when they arrive.
The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) and the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES).
An all volunteer Amateur Radio organization operating in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management to provide back-up communications for the Commonwealth of Virginia and the various counties therein. Virginia’s 4 p.m. Burning Law is currently in effect across the Commonwealth. This law prohibits open burning before 4 p.m. each day (Feb. 15 – April 30) if the fire is in, or within 300 feet of, woodland, brushland or fields containing dry grass or other flammable materials.
