Details

The Lanexa Station 4 Auxiliary, Inc. was incorporated by the Commonwealth of Virginia on April 23, 2010 to support the establishment of New Kent Fire-Rescue Station 4 in the Lanexa community. Currently the Auxiliary only has a few members, but is actively looking for area residents interested in helping establish the Fire-Rescue Station and in supporting the Station however it needs to be supported.

The Auxiliary has a number of fund raising events planned in 2010. A watermelon sale at Colonial Downs kicked off the summer season on Memorial Day and will occur again on July 4th; a golf tournament on September 24th at Viniterra, Farms of New Kent & New Kent Winery will welcome the start of autumn; and for later in the fall, plans have already begun for a charity auction, which needs community support, both in donating auction items and in auction participation. Residents of the county are encouraged to come out to one or more of our events to learn more about the Station 4 Project, to show their support, and to enjoy a good time.

The Lanexa Station 4 Auxiliary has applied for 501 (c)(3) tax exempt designation with the Commonwealth; the required documentation has been submitted and the process of obtaining this important status is currently underway.

Membership meetings are always advertised in the Coming Events Section of the Chronicle, so look for them, and in the meantime interested residents are encouraged to contact Barb Gilroy at 757-561-3640 (days), 804-966-9405 (evenings) or by emailing LanexaStation4Auxiliary@wildblue.net to obtain additional information on the Auxiliary, Auxiliary Membership or Upcoming Planned Events.
